Say goodbye to the ones of 2018

We all haven’t been able to say goodbye. Haven’t had one more conversation. One more smile. One more fight. One more hug. One more laugh. One last and final goodbye not knowing goodbye is forever. We take advantage of things and people who make us the reason for existing. Not answering a phone call because you couldn't bother to pick it up for two minutes. Not going on that vacation because you can always do it when you retire. Not going out for that drink because you are scared of losing someone you never had in the beginning. Walking away thinking you will have time to talk and resolve the issue. In one quick second everything could change and what you wish was there, isn’t. Replaying every last word said, every last thing done. Like being on the teacups spinning around and around hoping once it stops everything will return to normal. So, you escape, too afraid of the reality of it all. But, you can’t escape far enough to forget. So, we wake up, roll over, and step out the door as if the world can’t stop for one second to let us breathe. When do we breathe? Our life has been made up of schedules and goals and plans only to realize we don’t know how to stop to breathe. We always think that we will have tomorrow. But, what if we don’t? What if everything we have held in and not have said or done goes to waste? When we say something, we should mean it. When we do something insane it’s because we should know we aren't guaranteed tomorrow. I don’t know how to say goodbye. I don’t have that answer. Nobody does. So, take every moment as your last moment. Say what you need to say. Do what you need to do. Breathe. Stop and breathe. Life is unpredictable, be unpredictable, be the best you, and hold onto everything and everyone a tad bit longer. Once it’s gone you can’t get it back. Remember that. If anything, remember that. Here's to the ones who we leave behind in 2018. We will make you proud.

Love, The Unknown Girl Of LA
